From the Row 7 project, this “deep purple-red” (think black) is packed with phytonutrients. I received the seeds too late to include on last year’s list. I grew out a few plants and found them to be very productive and very slow ripening.
The fruits turn black early, but they are not ripe until the bottom ends show some red color weeks later. Your patience will be rewarded with fruit I consider marginal eaten fresh but very flavorful and colorful when cooked. After ripening, the fruits stayed good for a long time hanging on the vine.
