Susie from SuDanFarms gave me three plants to try this spring, and I was very impressed with the fruit size and the productivity of the plants. Originating from Italy, they once were a special offering from an Oregon farm that has closed. They are a bit odd shaped, sort of pointed tops, but are very meaty, seeds are small and few, and good enough taste to eat fresh. They would make outstanding sauces. They look a lot like Cesare’s Canestrino Di Lucca, which I have added new for this year so we can compare.
